« Ah welch een Fest, welche Nacht voll Freud! » 🍾🥂

What a party is this Die Fledermaus at Opera Royal de Wallonie. This production is filled with jou, colour and laughter thanks to the wonderful work of @olivierlepelletierleeds , @carminedeamicis , @dbelugou & @jeanfrancoischarlesm.
All of it carried by the orchestra of the ORW under the baton of maestro Nikolas Nägele.
It is so fun to bring life to starlette Ida 🤩

Yesterday I received the title MMLaureate from La Monnaie/De Munt. ✨

This has a special meaning for me since it is the house where I first discovered opera as a member or their Children chorus at the age of 12.

La Monnaie/De Munt forever holds a special place in my heart and now also on my walls. 🖼️

Très heureuse d’avoir pu chanter à Vichy pour le recital « Un siècle de musique à l’Opéra de Vichy » aux côtés de magnifiques collègues et amis @marion_vergezpascal (mezzo-soprano), @marie_datch (pianiste) & @axeldejenlis (narration).

« Autre tête d’affiche du concert, Marion Bauwens fait l’étalage de dispositions vocales tout aussi probantes, avec son soprano empli d’une fraîcheur encore toute juvénile, mais dont la projection se fait assurée, tissée sur le fil d’un chant tout en finesse et sensibilité. En Marguerite qui rit de se voir si belle en ce miroir, mais aussi Manon ou Musetta, la Belge sait faire le meilleur usage de son instrument, jouant moins de profondeur absolue que de précision et de sobriété dans la diction, avec un soyeux vibrato. Quant à la coquetterie, la tendresse ou la frivolité, elles sont ici restituées avec un sens du théâtre qui fait mouche, tout comme cet art consommé du récit poétique et dramatique perceptible dans ce Clair de Lune ou dans cet extrait de Pelléas et Mélisande de Debussy. »

Last week I had the pleasure of being one of the singers for the CIDOO - Concours International de Direction d’Orchestre d’Opera at the Opera Royal de Wallonie @operaliege. It was a very interesting experience to work with different conductors on the same piece within one day. You need to implement what they ask, but with a new chef comes a complete new slate. Also passing through different styles and repertoires going from Mozart, to Bizet, to Verdi and Rossini was a super experience. Thank you @operaliege for the invitation! Thank you also to my wonderful colleagues with whom we had lots of fun! @alessiapanzasoprano @juliebaillymezzo @josemarialomonaco @michelepatti @manuelamatitenor @mezzaro_tenore @lucadallamico

A new year, some time to reflect on the amazing op

A new year, some time to reflect on the amazing opportunities I already got this season.

This season started with my debut as “Annina” in La Traviata from Giuseppe Verdi. Thanks to the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège I got the privilege of being guided musically by Giampaolo Bisanti, dramatically by Thaddeus Strassberger and Antonio Barone & dressed by the wonderful Giuseppe Palella.
What a blessing to be surrounded by amazing artists I could call my colleagues ♥️

Une étoile filante: phénomène de lumière,brillant de mille feux, mais passant trop vite.
Tu as rejoint aujourd’hui le ciel, mais tu brilleras toujours aussi fort là-haut. ✨

Tu étais et tu resteras à jamais pour moi un modèle de courage, persévérance, joie de vivre, partage et bonté. Les moments de rires, conseils non-orthodoxes et câlins restent gravés dans mon coeur. Comme tu le disais si bien il y a quelques années: tu es juste passée dans la pièce à côté, mais tu seras toujours là 🤍

Répose en paix là où tu es et sache que tu es pour toujours avec moi dans la poursuite de ce rêve qu’est le chant, rêve inouï que tu m’as encouragée à poursuivre. 🤍

Very happy to announce my engagements in two main opera houses next season:

In September I will be Annina in La Traviata by Verdi in the beautiful Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège in Liège

In December I will be Paulina in the World Premiere of Fanny and Alexander by Mikael Karlsson in the théâtre of La Monnaie De Munt in Brussels

I really feel blessed for the trust of these two beautiful houses 💛

When one project ends, another one starts ♥️

It has been a true blessing to cover the role of Naomi in Cassandra from Bernard Foccroulle at La Monnaie De Munt. Being part of the creation of an opera is a very inspiring & touching process. It is defenitely one of the richest experiences I’ve had so far. Opera is a living and breathing artform ♥️
Thank you so much to Bernard for working so closely with us as singers. And thank you Marie-Eve Signeyrole for your kindness and insight into this wonderful new world you created.
I hope Cassandra will have a long life on the operastages. If you haven’t seen it: don’t hesitate!

Now up to the next challenge: a libretto-reading of La Muette de Portici from Auber. This piece has played a huge role in the creation of our little Belgium 🇧🇪.

A libretto-reading is an adaptation of the original libretto, into a more modern language. Some sections of the original score will then come to enrich/color this new libretto. It is a beautiful way to introduce people to this beautiful opera without losing the storyline.

There will be a version in Flemish & in French!
